Phenylketonurics

Found this statement on the Extra Xylitol Sugarfree GUM.....Unsuitable for phenyketonurics. excessive use can have laxative effects..

sometime it is very funny, they put all these technical term there, who the hell the layman chewing the gum know what the hell is that??

what is phenyketonurics - got short term for it called PKU, it is cause by the disorder of liver fucntion which produce certain enzyme, which convert the amino acid to a better amino acid. hence if this enzyme is mulfuction, it will cause the excessive of this bad amino acid and lead to blood poison and then brain... apparently it is not cureable, and normally is inherited. look like this is a very serious illness, where to the certain extend it can cause toxic to the brain tissues.

there is benefit of chewing the gum, read here from wrigleys..basically 3 major one

1. weight management - i was thinking how can the gum reduce weight, read this, it is actually assume that if you don't chew gum, you will consume some junk food, which at end of the day, will increase the calorie..

2. stress relieft.

3. increase alertness, focus and concentration..

for me, I am chewing it for 2 objectives, one is to keep me not fall into sleep after the lunch and cool air conditioning in the office, secondly is for freshness of mouth (this is profession term as Oral Health by wrigley) because sometimes no matter how i brush..there is still some smell..
